Confessions of a (Partially) Reformed Makeup Addict

Thursday, 22 June 2017
For the longest time I was obsessed with buying every new limited edition palette that came out, the second it came out. I wouldn't look at my makeup collection and see all the amazing things I already had. I would see the gaps, the spare spaces in my storage, and have a million ideas for filling them. A little while ago, a little because of financial pressure, I stopped buying new things all the time and it really changed my attitude more than I ever thought it would.

Declutter Series: Face Brushes

Tuesday, 20 June 2017
I have way too many brushes to try and tackle them all in one post so I decided to split them up into face brushes and eye brushes. I really wanted to declutter my brushes because I really don't use a lot of them and it just makes more sense to get rid of the ones I don't, rather than having them all mixed up and having to wash them when I might have used them once in 3 weeks.

Eco Tools Blending Sponge Duo and Concealer Brush Duo review
I've always had a bit of soft spot for Eco Tools because my first brushes were from the brand and actually performed exceptionally well for the price. They just released new Perfecting Blender Sponge and Ultimate Concealer Duos and I have been putting them to the test for you.

Beenigma All In One Face Cream review skincare dry skin
I was lucky enough to be sent this luxury Beenigma All In One Face Cream ($124.95) that is created just across the pond in New Zealand. There has been a bit of buzz (no pun intended) around this product but I assure you that I went in to form my own opinions. It was sent to me as a PR sample but I wasn't paid to write this post and I'm not obligated to say nice things.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation: Old vs New Fomula

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation: Old vs New Fomula review swatches application
I have always loved the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and maintain it is one of the best foundations you can buy at any price point. Bourjois recently released a reformulated formula which, according to the PR, has anti-fatigue ingredients to fight dullness and is perhaps more luminous and glowy finish. All of that sounds fantastic to me and my dry skin so lets see how the new formula compares to the original.

Declutter Series: Primers and Setting Sprays

Tuesday, 6 June 2017
For this part of the series, I included all different kinds of primers and setting sprays. I've never actually been a real devotee of primers. I use them but I have really dry skin so I generally focus more on moisturisation to give me a workable base, rather than trying to extend the life of my makeup because it generally lasts pretty well. Also, because I have such dry skin, setting spray is a big must for me to remove that terrible powdery look that comes hand in hand with dehydrated skin.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile Nail Polishes

L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile Nail Polishes review swatches
What a mouthful of a name! Basically, it is just French for "these nail polishes have oil in 'em." The blend of oils that L'Oreal have introduced to the formula is meant to provide intense shine as well as opaque colour and I definitely agree. These polishes pack a lot of opacity with a glossy finish that really is commendable for a drugstore polish.
