My Makeup Travel Bag Witchery Anita Cosmetic Bag review
I love reading what makeup other people curate down to take on holidays with them because it is a fantastic way to find out which products are really the most used. Since I am going on two quick trips in quick succession and I just bought a gorgeous new makeup bag, that I would do an update of my makeup travel bag. These really are the products I have been using most recently and I absolutely love each and every one of them.

First off, the bag! I have been looking for a good larger makeup bag that would actually fit everything I need. After scouring the internet I actually saw the perfect one pop up in Witchery. How gorgeous is this Anita Cosmetics Bag ($59.95 available with AfterPay)? It is really chic and well made. Originally I bought the Antique Pink one but the day after I got it they released the black so I exchanged it. The pink was absolutely gorgeous but I love to keep my things looking as pristine as possible and I knew that black would be far more practical. The inside is a beautiful beige so I made sure to spray it with a waterproofer and stain preventer.

Everything fits in perfectly.
Now for the makeup I actually took with me...

Base

  • Mecca Cosmetica Lit From Within Illuminating Primer ($38): I really love this primer because it preps my dry skin really well and gives me a beautiful golden glow. It is also quite compact for travel.
  • Mecca Cosmetica All Set Makeup Perfecting Mist ($35): This is my new favourite setting spray! I still love my Maybelline one, but this one has the best spray mister which means it applies perfectly with now spots or specs left on the skin. It also leaves my skin dewy and glowy.
  • It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Colour Correcting Full Coverage Cream ($58): This is the base product when I want a little bit of coverage to even my skin tone, but I still want it to be light and fresh looking.
  • Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($99): This is my go-to luxe foundation for when I want to feel a bit special. It still has a lighter coverage but it is buildable and leaves a fantastic soft luminous finish.
  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation ($29): I seriously love this foundation! It gives me a little more coverage than the others but still looks really natural and luminous on the skin. It also lasts very well throughout the day.
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($14.95): I am so glad I am fake tanning now because I am finally able to use the Maybelline concealers! I use this one for the occasional blemish and actually like it a lot better than my more expensive concealers.
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser ($18.95): This is the one I use every single day to cover my constant dark circles. It covers well thanks to the slight colour correction and really lasts throughout the day. It is easily one of the best concealers out there and it is so inexpensive!
Powders
  • MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural ($52): I tend to prefer my Chanel loose powder for setting my makeup but it is not good for travel and this is a close second. It has some illumination and luminosity so it doesn't leave my dry skin looking flat and matte.
  • Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Bronzer ($50): This is my absolute favourite bronzer at the moment! It isn't totally matte but the luminosity is so fine and subtle that it is never too much. I can use it as a contour or to bronze my whole face up.
  • Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Highlighter ($50): I absolutely love this powder formula and this is my favourite everyday highlighter. It is so finely milled and looks beautiful every time. It can be quite subtle or be built up so it is a perfect choice to travel with when I can only choose one to take with me.
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($90): This powder is expensive but totally worth it! I mix the two lightest shades together to set all over, particularly focusing on my under eye area and high points with the lighter shade. I am also pale enough that the darkest shade makes for a beautiful natural bronzer. Altogether, this palette gives me the glowiest skin that somehow looks super luxe and expensive.
  • Bobbi Brown Powder Blush in Nectar ($47): I picked this up at the Estée Lauder corporate so cheap and it is really incredible. It is the perfect natural looking warm pink shade and I love the matte formula which blends perfectly into the skin without extra shimmer.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty ($38): This is the perfect balanced nude blush shade that gives a tiny natural flush without looking like too much. I particularly like it when I am using more bronzer and don't wan't to overdo things.
Eyes and Brows

  • L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara ($25.96): I am still totally in love with this mascara! I absolutely adore how it builds to create tons of volumes and separation. Believe the hype!
  • Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Brown (discontinued): I am so devastated that this seems to be discontinued! It is my go to everyday liner and I love it because it lasts all day and is an amazing shade that is far softer than a black liner.
  • 1000 Hour Eyebrow Mascara in Clear ($9.99): I have been loving this brow gel because it has the perfect small spoolie applicator. It also lasts really well and keeps my brows in place.
  • Anastasia Beverley Hills Dip Brow Pomade ($32): I have been using this religiously for years and that isn't about to change any time soon. I use it everyday and it is pretty much the only brow product I need.
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette ($83): Right now I am using Sin and Buck as an my everyday go-to look so of course I had to bring this palette. It also has lots of other options if I want to create a more intense eye look if I end up going out.
Lips
  • Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk ($35): I pretty much only use one lip liner on a regular basis and it is this one! It is my perfect nude lip shade and there was no way it wasn't coming with me.
  • Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Valentine (limited edition): This has got to be my most worn shade because it is the perfect light warm pink for everyday. I also love the creamy formula.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Love Liberty ($49): I love this lipstick as a soft lip stain mixed with lip balm or as a full colour intense lipstick. It is really pretty and versatile.
  • Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Lipstick in Mademoiselle ($53): This is my perfect sophisticated slightly plummy nude lipstick that looks absolutely gorgeous on the lips. It is also a bit sheer and really comfortable so I wear it very regularly.
  • MAC Lipstick in Modesty ($36): When I was choosing which true nude to take, I went for this one because it is the perfect one for my skin tone and I really like the cremesheen finish.
  • NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl ($39): Of course I had to take a red and I chose this one because it is a bright and lively shade that works well for day and night.
  • L'Oreal Infallible Long Wear Lip Gloss in Girl on Top ($21.95): The nudes I took with me are all warm toned so this warm, peach gloss was the perfect accompaniment. I don't usually wear gloss but I do like it to liven up my nude lipstick sometimes.
Perfume
  • Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum ($234): This is my favourite perfume at the moment and I use it most days so I really don't mind surviving with only one fragrance when I am travelling.
Phew, that took longer than I thought. At least now you know all my absolute favourites of the moment. Out of my huge makeup collection, these are the items I can't get without when I travel. I would love to know what products are the first to go into your travel makeup bag too so let me know in the comments below.

Disclaimer: I received the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and 1000 Hours Brow Mascara as PR samples but I paid for everything else myself. As always, my opinions are my own.

  7. Love this, Emma! I really wanted to do a travel makeup post before I came to Singapore but I ran out of time. I might have to do one when I get back! I haven’t worn makeup the entire time I’ve been here though, it’s too hot.

I really want to pick up the CC cream and the CT lipsticks because they’re cruelty free :)
