Bloggers United Event Brisbane 2017
This weekend I was lucky enough to go to the annual Bloggers United event here in Brisbane. Basically, Bloggers United runs in most Australian states to bring bloggers and influencers together with brands and knowledgeable pros to share tips, experience and connections. I went last year at it was really great so I was really excited to go again this year!

It is always really exciting to first walk into the even and see all the goody bags set up at the chairs! Freebies aren't the main reason I go, because I enjoy catching up with everyone and meeting new people much more, but they are definitely welcome perks.

First we went through all the brands that were there. They were all set up in little stations so we could walk on buy and get to know more about the products in the range. Kiehl's was a new addition as far as I can remember from last year and I was really excited that they had come along. I have tried a few products from Kiehl's in the past and really liked them so I was keen to check out more of their range. The masks looked absolutely amazing and I am definitely going to check them out in store. Plus they focused on their four serums for every skin concern and we got to pick on to try out. Of course, I chose the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturising Serum Concentrate ($87) for my dry skin. Stay tuned to find out how it goes!

Weleda also joined the party. It isn't a brand most of us see around the place but their cult favourite product, Skin Food, has proven really popular and I can't wait to use the one they generously gifted us. I also really liked the Pomegranate Body Lotion I tried out too!

Next up was Beauty Next! They represent Sleek, Barry M and The Balm here in Australia. I really love the few The Balm products and I definitely want to try more Sleek and Barry M since I haven't tried much from them. Most excitingly though, Sammy was telling us about how Studio 10 will be launching her in Australia soon with Beauty Next. We are all getting some of the first media packs when they become available so watch this space!

Finally was BYS. This is a brand that I've never really gotten excited about in the past, having written it off as "cheap" makeup. It seems though that they are really changing the brand and stepping up the quality. It really looks like they are trying to step into the same sort of market level as brands like NYX and I am really excited. I actually won one of the sold out and uber popular Peaches palettes that I can't wait to try out. I will let you know if they have succeeded in upping the quality. One thing is for sure, I am interested see where this new brand direction takes them.

Finally, after some delicious sandwiches and cakes, we chatted with the gorgeous and very knowledgeable Kate and Nicola. They have both been working as bloggers, influencers and media professionals for quite a while and had some really great insight into branding and reaching goals. I really enjoyed listening to what they had to say and they inspired me to persevere with Instagram particularly, despite the disheartening algorithm problems.

Overall, I had an amazing time! We left laden with goodies that I will be trying and reviewing for you over the coming weeks so definitely keep you eyes peeled. I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Tahana, Zebby and Nikita for putting this amazing event together. It was so great to catch up with the all the amazing girls I have met through blogging over the years. I am already looking forward to next year!

  1. Was so good to see you yesterday Emma :) the highlight of my day was Kate and Nicola speaking, it was encouraging and inspiring to hear them talk so knowledgeably about issues that it seems every blogger encounters at one time or another.

  4. I'm so sad I didn't get to go this year! I couldn't go for the original date because I was down in Melbourne, so I'm gutted there wasn't an opportunity for me to get a ticket for the rescheduled date! :( Sounds like you had a blast though and the event looked amazing and well-organised as always! Can't wait to see the goodies you got :)

  11. Loved seeing you on Sunday, Emma!

I love bloggers united because they're one of the only blogger events that actually give a shit about bloggers, because they are bloggers themselves! I love how they organise the events and treat attendees. I wish I could travel around to everyone's events 😂

I also loved the panel and now I'm on the hunt for Kate's By Johnny dress!!
