Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara £6.99
I saw Wayne Goss rave about this mascara so of course I had to pick it up when I was in the UK at the start of the year. I loved it from the moment I first used it but this month it was basically all I reached for. It has a small plastic brush with bristles that really separate every lash and build a ton of length. The only other thing I want sometimes is a tiny bit more volume at the roots so I find that it also pairs beautifully with a volumising mascara; I will use the Seventeen one for length and separation and the Maybelline Lash Sensational ($21.95) to add some volume. I know it is super high maintenance to use two mascaras but it really works. I only wish I could get it in Australia!
OPI Nail Lacquer in Tickle My France-y $19.95
I am kicking myself for waiting so long to buy this cult favourite shade. I always saw it on Instagram and Pinterest and it was literally on my wishlist for years before I finally picked it up when David Jones had a sale. Oh my god, I am love! It is a great formula that applies well and is opaque in two coats. It lasts a good 3+ days on my nails, making it better than most, and is the most perfect neutral colour that is still a little bit different. It also seems to be one of those shades that looks great on every skin tone.
Guess 1981 For Women EDT $69
I own a lot of really expensive floral fragrances but lately I have been reaching for this one a lot because it is a bit lighter, fresher and more understated than the others. It is always so hard to describe fragrances but basically this one is bright, summery with a tiny bit of a fruity and floral feel. It is a very nice, uncomplicated scent that is great for everyday. If you are looking for a statement signature fragrance this maybe isn't it, but it is great for someone who wants something understated but still really lovely.
MAC Lipstick in Modesty $36
I have always been a pink lipstick girl but lately I have been wearing more and more nude lippies. I always go for ones with a pink undertone because I am so pale that true beige nudes usually pull very brown. If you find the same, this might be a great choice for you. Also the cremesheen means that that it is a bit more understated and the perfect formula for everyday.
St Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Lotion $28.99
A couple of months ago I got so annoyed that I couldn't use so many foundation and concealer ranges because they didn't go light enough, so I decided to use a fake tanner just to make my skin a tiny bit darker, enough to open up those ranges. I read a crazy amount of reviews and after reading mixed reviews of the cheaper ones, I decided to take the plunge and get the St Tropez one, which I found a little bit discounted at the Chemist Warehouse. I have been really impressed with it and with a few tiny user errors mistake at first, it now looks really natural. Another big reason I chose a gradual tanner was because I didn't want any transfer or fake tan stains on my sheets and clothes. This fits the bill and it doesn't have a guide colour which means zero stains, even though you have to be more careful with application. Using it 2-3 times a week gives me a tiny bit of colour that looks natural and gorgeous but of course, if you want a deep tan it won't be for you. I am going to be picking up a couple of bottles at the Priceline skincare and tanning sale this week.
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Bronze $50
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Bronze $50
Because I am a little bit warmer, I have been using this bronzer more often and I have fallen even more in love. The highlighter version is my ride or die and I am so glad I picked up the bronzer. It is a great, natural looking shade and has a tiny bit of luminosity without actually being shimmery. Considering I am not really a bronzer lover, the fact that I adore this one says a lot.
So there you have my July favourites. I would love to hear what you have been loving this month so let me know below.
Disclaimer: I received the Guess perfume as a PR gift but I paid for everything else myself. As always, my opinions are my own.
