Eco Tools Blending Sponge Duo and Concealer Brush Duo review
I've always had a bit of soft spot for Eco Tools because my first brushes were from the brand and actually performed exceptionally well for the price. They just released new Perfecting Blender Sponge and Ultimate Concealer Duos and I have been putting them to the test for you.

Eco Tools Perfecting Blender Duo $19.99

So first of all, these are great value at $10 each which means they come in cheaper than the Real Techniques one. I was a thrown when I first used them because they are very dense and much less squishy than the Beauty Blender or Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. That means the rounded end isn't the greatest for blending foundation because it doesn't comfortably give enough to cover a large surface area. That said, I did quite like the flat edges for blending foundation. The surface of the sponge itself is great and does an excellent job blending in product. It is a bit weird and unfamiliar to hold in the hand and use but it does work well. If you are looking for an exact dupe for more popular sponges, you may want to look elsewhere though because it just feels very different to use. Not worse, just different. As a benefit though, I think the density of the Eco Tools sponges means they absorb less product because I definitely noticed that my foundation went a little further. Plus, they were easy to wash because the product didn't seem to penetrate very far into the sponge but they did take longer to dry.

Eco Tools Ultimate Concealer Duo $14.99
Eco Tools Ultimate Concealer Duo makeup brush brushes review
In the interest of full disclosure, I really don't use foundation brushes very much. I am lucky enough to have left my acne spot days behind me so I only really use concealer on my under eye area and a blending sponge is usually the best tool there. That said, I did give these a thorough test and I found that they were actually really good for spot concealing. The small flat brush is great for laying down concealer and the other one buffs and airbrushes away the edges. They are far too small for any larger areas like under the eyes, but they are perfect for concealing little spots. The only thing I don't love is that ferrule metal part is so big compared to the short bristles, it can be a little awkward. If you just use it to gently buff in the foundation it isn't a problem though.

So there you have my thoughts on these two new offerings from Eco Tools. They definitely have kept up their reputation of offering pretty great products that are super affordable. The sponges definitely aren't dupes for the Beauty Blender but they are pretty damn good nevertheless. Plus the concealer duo would be amazing for anyone who needs some brushes to cover those pesky spots.

Disclaimer: These products were sent to me as PR samples but there was no obligation to write a positive review. My opinions are always my own.

  5. I really want to try the sponges because I've heard great things about them! I like the shape - I feel like I could experiment with baking with that flat side. The concealer brushes look great. I use a tiny flat brush for spot concealing with my Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer so I'd definitely have a use for it!
