My Travel Makeup Bag

Monday, 26 June 2017
Since I am going away for two and a half weeks and had to pack a travel makeup bag, I thought it would be nice to share my picks with you. A travel makeup bag is always a really good indication of the best products you can't live without! All of these rank very highly for me and I can wholeheartedly say that they are some seriously amazing products.

Face

  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Foundation in 51 Light Vanilla ($29) - This is my go to foundation! You can find my full review here.
  • Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in Y205 ($67) - Unfortunately, the Healthy Mix foundation is a bit too dark so I have to mix a touch of this one in to make it match.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in Fair 1 (available on eBay) - This is amazing for the price, I only wish it was available here without having to order through eBay.
  • Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque ($44) - This is seriously pigmented and creamy! It saves me from my tired, terrible dark circles every time.
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light ($52) - This is such a beautiful powder for dry skin because it makes my skin luminous, not powdery and overly matte.
  • Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder in Light ($55.50) - This is such a gorgeous, luxury powder and the lighter shade means I can do my contour without much effort or thought in the morning.
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($90) - Any time I want to add a gorgeous, ethereal glow that blurs my pores and generally makes my skin look expensive, I reach for this palette.
  • NARS Powder Blush in Amour ($44) - I like this shade for a little something different and it plays surprisingly well against my light skin.
  • Chanel Powder Blush in 72 Rose Initial ($75) - This is my all time favourite everyday blush because it is the perfect shade of rosy pink and has a gorgeous luminosity to it.
  • Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze 01 ($45) - This is my new favourite bronzer because it is warm but not orange, super blendable and a little bit luminous.
  • Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlighter 01 ($45) - This is hands down one of the most beautiful highlighters out there. It is incredibly finely milled and the perfect champagne shade.
Eyes
  • NARS And God Created The Woman Palette (limited edition but you can buy my favourite shade, Kalahari, in a duo $52) - I never travel without this palette! It is so small and compact and allows me to do anything from an everyday eye to a smoked out, sexy look. Plus, every time I do my mum's makeup she requests this palette and I'm visiting her so it is probably a good one to pack.
  • Tom Ford Eye Colour Quad in 03 Cocoa Mirage ($135) - This palette is all kinds of ridiculously expensive but it also has my 3 favourite basic mattes in the whole wide world.
  • Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten ($26) - There is something magical about this cult favourite shade and I love wearing it as an inner corner highlight or all over my lid for a pah-pow glitter eye look.
  • Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze ($11.95) - My favourite, no-fuss all over lid shade that lasts all day on the lids without budging or fading, even in the most trying weather.
  • Anastasia Beverley Hills Dip Brow in Medium Brown ($32) - This has been my go to brow product for years and I use it every single day.
  • Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kahal in Black and Brown ($9.95) - I can't find these online anywhere! So help me, if they are discontinued.... I love these liners because they are rich, pigmented and fantastic for the waterline.
  • Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara ($5.10) - This is a fantastic and super affordable thickening brow gel that has a great little applicator and adds some colour.
  • Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara ($21.95) - This is one of my favourite drugstore mascaras that thickens and curls the exact amount I love.
  • Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara (available on eBay) - This is another one that I picked up on my travels that isn't sold in Australia, which is such a shame because it is amazing. It seperates and lengthens amazingly well and pairs nicely with the Lash Sensational which bulks up the volume a little.
Lips
  • Clarins Eclat Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 05 Candy Shimmer ($30) - Even though I don't wear gloss much because it is a pain with long hair, this is my favourite because it is light, comfortable and feels great on the lips.
  • MAC Lipstick in Blankety ($36) - This was my choice for a true beige nude because it is opaque, comfortable and is one of the few nudes that doesn't wash me out.
  • MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup ($36) - This is my favourite light baby pink lipstick that works so well as an everyday lippie colour for me.
  • MAC Lipstick in Brave ($36) - I thought I would take this one with me for a mauve nude option.
  • Kiko Milano Gossamer Emotion in 103 - Unfortunately, Kiko isn't yet available to Australians and I picked this one up in Rome. I hope they do start shipping here eventually because I would really like to buy more shades in this great formula. This is a beautiful, sheer pinky nude.
  • Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Valentine ($49) - I wear this gorgeous nude all the time so I couldn't leave it behind even though I did probably bring more nudes than I needed to.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Love Liberty ($49) - This is such a beautiful, sophisticated wine shade that looks amazing as a lip stain or as a full effect matte lip.
  • Chanel Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in 434 Mademoiselle ($53) - This is the prettiest sheer mauvey brown nude that looks really natural and flattering on the lips because it isn't opaque. It is a unique formula that I really love.
  • Dior Addict Fluid Stick in 575 Wonderland ($52) - This is the high impact lipstick I chose to take with me. This is super duper glossy and makes for a gorgeous statement red lip.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk ($35) - This is my all time favourite lip liner so there was no way it wasn't coming with me!
  • MAC Lip Pencil in Soar ($30) - I love this paired with just about any nude lip liner to give it a mauvey base so it pairs nicely with my lipstick choices on the rare occasion I want something other than Pillow Talk.
So there you have my travel makeup bag. Do you love any of my favourites too? What would you pack first in your makeup bag. Let me know in the comments below because it is always interesting to hear what people's ride or die products are.

    1. Yeah I need to get the shade darker so I can try it on it's own. I bought a shade that was too light (first time for everything) so I use it as a mixer.

    1. Bold statement lips are so versatile in my opinion. You can use them as a subtle stain or full impact opaque. Thanks for reading :)
