L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile Nail Polishes review swatches
What a mouthful of a name! Basically, it is just French for "these nail polishes have oil in 'em." The blend of oils that L'Oreal have introduced to the formula is meant to provide intense shine as well as opaque colour and I definitely agree. These polishes pack a lot of opacity with a glossy finish that really is commendable for a drugstore polish.

One of the things I love most about these polishes is the gorgeous wide brush that makes application easy in three quick strokes. It is important with wide brushes to wipe them off right because, if you have too much polish, it will flood the nail. Once you get used to it though, wide brushes make things so easy and neat. As for the shade range it really is lovely with all the key shades you would want. They are vivid and lush and there are some really standouts. For me, Grenat Irrévérent is my favourite.

Like I said, this colour is a standout. When I posted it on Snapchat, a few people messaged me right away to ask about the shade. I actually have a similar colour in an Essie polish (Sole Mate) and it doesn't last longer than two days because it cracks and visibly wears. This one is far superior and lasts a good 4 or so days which is the most I expect of a non-gel formula. It applies smoothly and is almost a one-coater, totally opaque in two. As you can see in the swatch, I experienced some bubbling but that was more my fault for applying coats that were too thick. When I tried again with thinner coats it was perfect.

Remember those dark days before the popularity of greige polishes? I think it is my favourite go to neutral, aside maybe from a good mauve, because it is different and eye catching while being office appropriate and understated. The formula and coverage is just as good and it lasts nicely on the nails. As you can see, the finish is super shiny too.

This is the only shade I didn't like as much because the formula wasn't as opaque or long wearing, but that is a bit of a consistency when it comes to light pinks like this. It is certainly better than many I have tried and is reasonably opaque in two coats and completely in three which beats something like Essie's Ballet Slippers. I will say though, that it does discolour and crack pretty quickly. Again, I have come to expect that from shades like this which is why I don't often wear them. Compared to other formulas in the same shade it's a lot better though.

So there you have an overview of the new L'Huile polishes from L'Oreal. Long story short, I really do love them and will probably be picking up some more shades. I think they are pretty bomb for the price, especially since you can pick them up for 30-50% off if you keep an eye out. I love the brushes and they perform the same, if not better, as my Essie polishes in comparible shades so great job L'Oreal!

Note: I paid for all of these products myself. Whether I receive PR samples or buy products myself, my opinions are always my own.
