My New MAC Nude Lipsticks & Lip Pencils

MAC lipstick lip pencil Brave Soar Blankety Modesty Spice review swatch swatches
When I was in Europe I took advantage of the duty free prices as well as the fact that MAC is much cheaper anywhere that isn't Australia to expand my lips collection. I have a ton of light pink lipsticks in my collection so I made a concerted effort to get a few more nude shades to fill out my collection. If you would like to see a round up of the rest of my MAC lipsticks not included in this post, you can find it here.

MAC Lipstick in Blankety $36
 MAC Lipstick in Blankety review
This is an amplified creme formula which means that it is a seriously creamy and opaque formula. According to the MAC website, it is a soft pink beige but I really don't see the pink as much, especially on my skin tone. To me it is a pretty true beige which is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it looks a lot darker on me than most people but it is still a really pretty nude lipstick. The formula is amazing as well, as you would expect from MAC lipsticks, and I get a good couple of hours wear before I need to touch up.

MAC Lipstick in Modesty $36

As a cremesheen formula, this lipstick is creamy, glossy but not quite as opaque as the amplified cremes. Modesty is a lot pinker than Blankety and is a really pretty nude colour that isn't too far from my natural lip shade. If you need a really wearable nude this should definitely be on your radar. The cremesheen formula is also one of my favourites as well because it is so so comfortable. It doesn't last ages, but it is moisturising and easy to touch up so I don't mind.

MAC Lipstick in Brave $36

I was stuck in the Dublin airport forever and super bored so what is a girl to do other than buy a new lipstick? This one is a satin formula which has a slight pearlescent sheen that very subtle on the lips and is a little more matte than most without being truly matte. It means that it is really comfortable to wear but a little more long wearing that a cremesheen or amplified creme formula. The shade is a mauvey-pink nude that is more flattering than I thought it would be on my pale skin.

MAC Lip Pencil in Soar $30

I bought the Brave lipstick so of course I had to buy the Soar lip pencil. This is the first MAC lip pencil I've ever used and I actually really like them. They are expensive but the shade range is pretty great and the formula is really nice. Soar is a muted mauve-pink brown that is actually quite unique so it is worth spending the money. It is quite dark but I think it is great for creating a slightly more formal nude lip.

MAC Lip Pencil in Spice $30

I am obsessed with Lydia Elise Millen who uses this lip liner with a large portion of her nude lipsticks so I had to try it. Of course her skin tone is very different to mine but I was curious anyway. Spice is a medium cinnamon brown and is definitely different to the lip liners I usually use but it is great paired with lighter lipstick for a really creamy look. The formula is great, just like the Soar liner, and applies smoothly and doesn't pull or bunch up. I really do love the MAC lip pencil formula and will happily buy more, especially if I can do a US order using a package forwarding service like Comgateway to save money.

So as you can tell, I really like these new nude MAC goodies. I still prefer pinker tones for everyday so I may not get as much use out of these, but I am making an effort to branch out. Nude lips always look so great on everyone else, so I'm trying to work it into my daily look more. Let me know if there are any other lighter nude lipsticks or liners particularly that I should try out or if you have a favourite from these new additions to my collection.

    1. Yeah I wasn't sure because I'm so pale but I actually do like it. I think I need to get the Stripdown liner as well though because it is a lighter nude. Thanks for reading :)

    1. Yeah the lip liners definitely affect the lipstick which sometimes annoys me but I just use a clear liner. Sometimes the combos can be fantastic though. Let me know how you go at the MAC counter :p

  16. I don't actually have any of these lipsticks in my collection and now I'm like 'what, how?!' haha. All three are gorgeous, so I'm going to pop to my local MAC store as soon as possible to swatch them for myself and inevitably buy all three!
