L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil hair care treatment mask heat protector oil in cream
I was lucky enough to be gifted with a large chunk of the L'Oreal Elvive treatment range and I have been diligently testing them out to let you know which are the best ones to spend your money on. I am usually a slave to high end haircare but I have been trying to cut spending lately so I have been experimenting a lot more with more affordable products and I have been pleasantly surprised in some cases.

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Mask $9.95

Why not start with my favourite? I was really pleasantly surprised by this mask because I had been turned off cheaper ones in the past that left my hair full of residue and just generally feeling gross. I went from using a $50 mask to this one and I didn't find myself missing the expensive one too much which is always a really good sign. It was very rich, smoothed my hair and made it more manageable and, most importantly, rinsed out without any noticeable residue or heaviness in my hair. It also smells pretty good too. This is definitely one of the better drugstore hair masques and you get a ton for 10 bucks.

Elvive Extraordinary Oil Oil-In-Cream $9.99

This Extraordinary Oil range smells seriously good and is really nourishing on my hair. It is quite a thick cream so if you have very fine hair it might weigh it down a bit, but on my normal hair it was totally fine. I used it mostly in my wet hair after washing it to replace oils and moisture or on dry hair to make it smoother and shinier. It is a great multipurpose nourishing cream.

Elvive Smooth Intense Heat Protect Cream $9.99

This heat protector definitely did the job but I really do prefer a spray protector. I usually use an oil or nourishing cream so to add another cream on top can be a bit heavy which is why I like to use a light spray like the Make Protected Spray. This isn't bad by any means, but it is a little heavier because it is a cream. It would be great if you had very unruly hair with more flyaways but if you have oily or fine hair, I'd go with a protectant spray.

L'Oreal Elvive Total Repair 5 CICA-Cream $9.99

I used this one for a couple of weeks and I honestly really didn't see it doing much. I didn't hate it, but I really just don't think it did much and I definitely preferred with Oil-in-cream which is for much the same purpose.

All in all, I think the Elvive Extraordinary Oil range in particular is amazing value for the money. They kept my hair nourished, smooth and manageable which is all I ask of my haircare products. It also didn't hurt that these products smelled great too. Will you be trying out some L'Oreal Elvive or do you have any other great affordable haircare favourites? Let me know in the comments below.
