I was lucky enough to receive these gorgeous polishes in an amazing Bachelorette PR package from Maybelline. Maybelline is the official makeup partner for Maybelline, supplying these polishes that are fit for a rose ceremony. I had tried Color Show polishes with mixed results before but some of these shades are great.
Color Show 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 349 Power Red & 46 Sugar Crystals $5.95
I was really pleasantly surprised, particularly by the Power Red shade. I usually like a chunkier glitter while this is more like a fine shimmer top coat. In any case, they both applied very nicely. The red was fully opaque, even and glossy in 2 thin coats that dried very quickly. My whole mani took like 20 mins which is insanely quick for me. I also have two coats of the Sugar Crystals shade on in this picture too. These lasted a good 3+ days without chipping and one day 4 when I removed it, it only had minor chipping at the very tips.
Maybelline Color Show 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 15 Candy Apple $5.95
Again, I really liked the formula of these. The brush is really good too; it is small but wide and flatter than a traditional brush which makes neat application really easy. I also really love this gorgeous rich red shade. It lasted a good 3 days before it chipped which is good enough for me, especially for such an affordable and quick drying polishes. I have noticed that quick dry formulas tend not to last as long in general so I'm pretty happy with the wear time of these.
Maybelline Color Show 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 342 Coral Craze $5.95
While I really liked this peachy coral shade, the longevity of this one just wasn't as good as the reds. It chipped a little quicker and got fine little micro-cracks in the finish at my tips were my nail bent and cracked the polish. Funnily enough, I always find that orange shades are always problematic, even in other polish formulas that are otherwise great. Is that just me? In any case, even though it only lasted 2-3 days before it started looking ratty, it is super quick to redo thanks to the easy to apply and quick drying formula.
Maybelline Express Remover $9.95
You guys, this is sooooo good. I had tried one of these sponge removers before and wasn't impressed so honestly I wasn't expecting great things. Imagine my surprise when it removed even the pigmented red nail polish that would usually leave my nails and fingers stained. It even removed my accent glitter nail without any issue at all! I was so surprised, especially since it is a non-acetone remover that didn't leave my nails overly stripped. It is safe to say, I will definitely be repurchasing this one!
I really, really liked these new Maybelline products, especially the red polishes and remover! Are the Color Show polishes the best out there for longevity? No, but they dry really quicky, apply smoothly and only cost a few dollars because you can always get them on sale. I think they are fantastic value so if you spot a shade you like, I say pick it up!
