My Current Skincare Routine

Tuesday, 9 August 2016
I recently realised that I haven't done an update of my skincare routine in ages. While I try out a lot of skincare products for my blog, I have come back to these old favourites lately because my skin did start to hate me a little for trying a million products. I have somewhat sensitive chronically dry skin and ongoing issues with allergic reactions to face moisturisers in particular which means I have been really gravitating towards more simple, high quality skincare products.

My Morning Routine

  • Nuxe Rose Petal Lait Démaquillant Confort Comfort Cleansing Milk $26.99: I love this cleansing milk because it is so moisturising for my dry skin and it is really convenient in the morning because I can sit down at my desk with all my skincare and makeup to do my morning routine all at once without having to use the sink. I just apply one pump to a cotton pad and dot it on my face. As I rub the cotton pad over my skin it lifts any dirt and oil and leaves my skin really clean without stripping it. For anyone worried that a cleansing milk won't do a proper job, I used it after my cream cleanser and the milk cleanser picked up leftover makeup and dirt the other one missed. If you have dry skin, definitely look into milk cleansing lotions.
  • Bioderma Hydrabio Tonique Lotion Hydrante Moisturising Toning Lotion $31.99 - I actually really love the Nuxe Rose Petal Gentle Cleansing Lotion ($26.99) but sadly Priceline doesn't seem to stock it any more and I haven't gotten around to ordering it online so this Bioderma toner is a close second. It perfectly tones my skin while simultaneously removing all traces of my milk cleaning lotion. It always leaves my skin refreshed and moisturised.
  • Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream $59 - This is my second tub of Benefit eye cream and I am still loving it. It is a very thin formula that packs a seriously moisutirisng and brightening punch while still working perfectly beneath makeup. It always makes my concealer application smoother.
  • Bioderma Hydrabio Sérum Concentré Moisturising Concentrate $45.99 - I am now onto my third bottle of this amazing moisturising serum and I still love it! It is a light, super hydrating lotion that I tend to just use alone but I would like to try out the Rich and Light Hydrating Creams in the same range sometime soon.
  • Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 50+ Superscreen $40 - I recently got this as my annual Mecca Beauty Loop birthday present and it has totally replaced all my other suncreens. The formula is light, non-greasy and super comfortable. It also doesn't have that typical suncreen smell either which is a huge plus for me. It is hands down the best sunscreen I have ever used.

My Evening Routine
  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O Solution Micellaire Démaquillante Make-up Removing Micelle Solution $42.99 - I always start by removing my makeup with this micellar water. I have been using this for years and I can't even remember what number bottle I am up to. I have tried a bunch of the other cheaper micellar options but they are never as good and always irritate my eyes. I simply could not be without this.
  • Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel $20 - This cleansing gel is an old favourite because it is simple, effective and never irritates my skin.
  • Bioderma Hydrabio Tonique Lotion Hydrante Moisturising Toning Lotion $31.99
  • Medik8 Hydr8 Night Eye Vitamin Rich Eye Cream $89 - This is an amazing eye cream that offers richer moisturisation than my Benefit eye cream. It is a gorgeous rich cream that contains retinol vitamin A to prevent aging and maintain moisture.
  • Bioderma Hydrabio Sérum Concentré Moisturising Concentrate $45.99
  • Nuxe Rève De Miel Baume Lèvres Lip Balm $19.99 - This is still my all time favourite lip balm and I have been using every night for at least a year. It always brings my lips back from the brink, even in the middle of winter. It is also a huge tub that has lasted me ages making it well worth the money.
So there you have my current skincare routine. I am really happy with all of these products and my skin has settled down a lot over the last few weeks. I would love to know what skincare products you have been loving lately or if you love any of these as much as I do.

  1. I've heard great things about the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel, I need to try it out! A lot of my favourite brands and products in here too! I need to repurchase the Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream, I've been trying out others but really just love this one the best :)
