Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil review
I have been a big fan of facial oils for a long time so I was really keen to try out this gorgeous Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil from Kosmea. It is recommended for a huge range of skin concerns including scars, acne, wrinkles, stretch marks, sun damaged skin, uneven skin tone, eczema and dry & sensitive skin. I, of course, have been using it for my chronically dehydrated and dry skin and I am so happy with the results.

Kosmea is all about natural organic skincare that is simple and effective. With a straight forward brand philosophy and high quality results, they really want their products to speak for themselves. The rose hip used to make their products is wild grown and ethically picked on the Maluti Mountains of Lesotho in South Africa. It is then processed into a superfine high quality oil that is easily absorbed into the skin.

I used this every single night for almost a month and I was really impressed by how much it boosted the hydration of my skin. At first I was apprehensive because I have tried some rose hip oil products in the past and really not liked the smell but this one doesn't have an intensely strong smell like some of the others so I got along just fine with the scent. It is a really beautiful, thin oil that felt so nice to massage into the skin and by the morning it had fully absorbed to leave my skin soft and supple. Even in this terrible dry and cold winter weather it kept my skin perfectly moisturised. It is also worth noting that only need four drops to cover the whole face and neck so this little bottle will last ages which makes it very cost effective, especially in a market of prohibitively expensive night creams. It comes in a range of sizes: 10mL for $13.95, 20mL for $27.95 and 42mL for $49.95. The range is also readily available at David Jones or Terry White Chemists.
Though you can see some subtle changes, the before and after photos don't really do this beautiful product justice. I have always taken really good care of my skin so it wasn't particularly bad to start with. In both photos I have completely clean skin, freshly cleansed with Micellar Water.  The big difference for me has been in the texture and feel of my skin which has improved so much after using this Kosmea oil. It is so much more moisturised and supple which even makes my makeup apply smoother. I also think my skin looks a lot more luminous as well. I am so happy with how well it has hydrated my skin and I will absolutely continue using it. It definitely beats my previous favourite Oil Garden Aromatherapy Jojoba Oil ($20.99) because it is much more refined and faster absorbing. I also think that Rose Hip oil just does a little something extra when compared to jojoba oil.

I would definitely say that everyone could use this oil and get some amazing results. A very common misconception is that people with oily skin should steer clear of facial oils. They can actually help to rebalance the natural oils in our skin to help with excess oil production throughout the day. It is also worth noting that many people who have oily skin also simultaneously have really dry and dehydrated skin and the oiliness is often the skin trying to overcompensate and cope with depleted moisture levels. If you have never tried a facial oil you definitely should, no matter your skin type, because they are amazing. This one from Kosmea is a particularly good option. I also recommend using Lisa Eldridge's fantastic facial massage technique for a bit of relaxation and pampering every night to really work the oil into the skin.
