The Nail Lab Lacquer Nail Polish in Gladys and Penny review swatch swatches
I recently received these lovely "The Nail Lab" polishes and I simply had to try them out. I had seen this brand all Australian pop up on Instagram a few times so I was more than happy to give them a go. The Nail Lab is a actually a salon in Sydney that has branched out and created their own polish line.

The Nail Lab Lacquer in Penny $15
First of all, for a salon quality, all-Australian product I think that $15 is a really solid price point as they are cheaper than brands like Essie and OPI. Penny is an absolutely stunning light baby pink cream formula which also dries down to a satin type finish which can be easily upped to a full gloss with a top coat. I actually really liked the finish of this one and it was mostly opaque in 2 coats but looked fantastic with 3 coats. A friend even asked me if it was shellac; it looked that good. On the slight down side, it did chip quite badly on the third day so it doesn't have awesome lasting power. Considering the lovely finish though and the gorgeous shade, I will still use it again.

The Nail Lab Lacquer in Gladys $15Okay, this one is definitely my favourite! Not only is it a beautiful, unique colour but it also applies like a dream and is seriously a one coater. I applied two coats for this picture to make it super smooth but I could have easily gone with just one coat. It reminded me of the Essie metal collection from a while ago but I think I like this formula more. It also lasted significantly longer than the Penny shade which surprised me because these sort of chromes often chip really easily. I got a good 5 days wear before significant chipping which I think is incredible, especially for a metallic shade. I have already worn this one a second time so I'm sure that speaks volumes. I would definitely recommend this one and I am really keen to try out some more shades.

These are definitely on the top of my "to try next" list. Top Row (L to R): Giselle and Maureen. Bottom Row (L to R): Oli and Marcia.
I really enjoy trying out a great Aussie brand, especially with formulas and shades as pretty as this. If you haven't checked out the Nail Lab polishes yet, you may definitely want to look into it. It is also worth noting that they do a flat $10 shipping rate and free shipping on orders over $50 which makes it really easy to get them sent right to you. Let me know which shades you are keen to try!

    1. Yeah it is great. It was still a teeny bit streaky after the second coat but the third coat made it perfect. That is still pretty good though for such a light pink shade, I think.
