When the weather cools down I inevitably start pulling out the reds, plums and dark neutrals for my nails. If we are being honest, I absolutely love fall/winter colours in general and I always feel like I can be a little more vampy in my colour choices. Here are my top picks for winter nail shades.
Sally Hansen Salon Gel Polish in Pat on the Black and Plum's The Word $19.95
Pat on the Black may just be one of my all time favourite nail polish shades which is a big statement since it is actually pretty new to my collection. It is a super dark wine colour that looks absolutely incredible on the nails. The formula is particularly good too and it is completely opaque in two thin coats. The formula of Plum's the Word is a little sheerer but it still goes on really well. I really like the muted plum shade of this one too as a great neutral with a twist. If you would like my full review on the lamp set Salon Gel Polish formula, check it out here, but it is also important to note that these shades are also available in the normal Complete Salon Manicure formula ($14.95) if you don't want to bother with the LED lamps. It gives such amazing longevity and crazy high gloss though so I'm a huge fan of the Salon Gel Polishes.

Essie Nail Colour in Lady Like, Angora Cardi, Chinchilly, Smokin' Hot and Mink Muffs $16.95
I have always been a big fan of Essie polishes and the gorgeous range of colours and there is certainly no shortage of gorgeous winter shades in their collection. Lady Like is a beautiful soft mauve while Angora Cardi is a deeper dusty purple shade. Chinchilly is a cult favourite greige shade that is one of my favourites of all time - you need to try it! Finally, Smokin' Hot is a deeper grey with a hint of purple and Mink Muffs gorgeous smokey taupe. Any or all of these would be absolutely gorgeous for winter and I will probably have them on constant rotation this year.

Isn't it gorgeous? I think I might have to pick it up in the normal formula too when I don't feel like using the salon gel formula. It is hands down one of the most beautiful shades I own.
