Priceline Picks - 40% off Cosmetics Sale

Sunday, 3 April 2016
It's that time again! Every beauty addict in Australia keeps a list of products in reserve to buy at the next inevitable Priceline 40% off sale but if you are having trouble with yours I have a whole bunch of great drugstore products for you to check out. Get ready guys, it's a long list!

Face

  • L'Oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer $29.95 (will be $17.97) - I adore this primer. It really is one of my all times favourites. It gives me a gorgeous luminous base which still glows through my foundation and really creates a smooth and long lasting base.
  • L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion $29.95 (will be $17.97) - I reviewed this one here but needless to say, it is a gorgeous light to medium finish dewy finish foundation that just looks natural and luminous. The cushion packaging is also really convenient.
  • Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder $20 (will be $12) - This is ridiculously smooth and finely milled and looks flawless on the face. It is one of the few makeup products I have every repurchased but I could not be without it. The Healthy Mix foundations are incredible too but sadly too dark for me.
  • Bourjois Blush in Rose D'Or $20 (will be $12) - This is one of the very few drugstore blushes I actually like. They are quite shimmery but they give a gorgeous natural flush to the skin. The formula is as close as you are going to find in the drugstore to my HG Chanel Powder blush because they are made by the same company.
  • Rimmel Kate Contouring Palette $16.95 (will be $10.17) - Now I will say that the bronzer in this isn't great which is a really shame because Rimmel actually does some other good bronzers. That said though, the highlighter and blush in this palette are gorgeous so it is well worth the 10 bucks!

Eyes & Brows
  • Maybelline Colour Tattoo $11.95 (will be $7.17) - I will never ever write a list of drugstore favourites and not include these. It will just never happen. Bad to the Bronze is one of my all time favourite eyeshadow shades while also being an incredible, long lasting formula. I reviewed the permanent collection here and the new leather collection here.
  • L'Oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow Mono $19.95 (will be $11.97) -  Great quality mattes are hard to find, either at the drugstore or high end. Let me tell you though, this one is like BUTTAH! All cheesiness aside, it is smooth, pigmented and blends like a dream. L'Oreal single shadows really hit it out of the park. I also reviewed them here.
  • Maybelline Brow Satin Duo Brow Pencil $16.95 (will be $10.17) - I reviewed this one a while ago (here) and I am still in love with it. It is quick, easy and really cost effective. It is definitely one of my favourite brow products at the drugstore.
  • L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper $18.95 (will be $11.37) - You have all probably heard about how amazing this is but suffice to say it gives great natural colour, has fibres to thicken and sets everything in place.
  • Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal $9.95 (will be $5.97) - This is such a gorgeous inky black and it is my go to for tight lining my upper lash line.
  • Maybelline HyperSharp Wing Liquid Liner $17.95 (will be $10.77) - I present to you the one liquid liner that lets my useless self achieve a beautiful winged liner look. I reviewed it here if you would like to see what it looks like on. Unfortunately it does dry out a bit quick but then again, so do most liquid liner felt tip pens.
  • Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara $21.95 (will be $13.17) - I included this in my March Favourites recently and labelled it my favourite drugstore mascara. Needless to say, you need to give this one a go.
Lips

  • Bourjois Contour Edition Lip Liner $16 (will be $9.60) - I really like this formula and especially this 02 Cotton Candy shade. It is creamy, lasts well and isn't too drying.
  • L'Oreal Color Riche Lip Liner Couture $15.95 (will be $9.57) - In short, this is another great drugstore lip liner and this Berry Blush shade is lovely.
  • L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick $21.95 (will be $13.17) - This is definitely one of my favourite drugstore lipstick formulas. I love the 235 Nude shade from the permanent collection especially.
  • Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick $15.95 (will be $9.57) - I reviewed a whole bunch of shades here but in short, these are gorgeous super vibrant lipsticks that are long lasting while still being moisturising.
  • L'Oreal Infallible Long Wear Lipgloss $21.95 (will be $13.17) - While I did say in my review that these might be misnamed, the formula is absolutely lovely. I has the smoothest moisturising feel and I have been wearing them non-stop.
  • Maybelline The Elixir Lip Gloss $17.95 (will be $10.77) - These have been around for a while but they are still one of my favourites. They come in gorgeous shades, are really comfortable and have just the right amount of shimmer.
Nails
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish $16.95 (will be $10.17) - I review these here and declared them the clear winner out of all the most popular lampless gel polishes. They are an amazing formula and well worth picking up at 10 bucks each.
  • Sally Hansen Salon Gel Polish $19.95 (will be $11.97) - My newest and most intense love, these lamp set gel polishes last insanely well and look so super glossy. Also remember that you will need to buy the starter kit (reviewed here) which includes the lamp, base coat, top coat, one colour polish and some disposables.
  • Essie Nail Polish $16.95 (will be $10.17) - I own something like 50 Essie polishes so it is safe to say that I'm a big fan. The colours are gorgeous, the formulas are great and the new updated wide brush makes application so quick and easy. Essie will always be my first nail polish love.
  • Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish $5.95 (will be $3.57) - This is definitely one of my absolute favourite super affordable nail polishes. I find the formula fantastic and really comparable to much more expensive polishes. For some truly beautiful shades, make sure you check out the Rita Ora collection.

So there you have some of my absolute favourite drugstore makeup items that you will be able to pick up for yourself this week for 40% off at Priceline's sale. It runs from Wednesday 6th of April to Thursday 7th of April online and in store. I always look forward to these bi-annual sales and you simply cannot beat the savings! I always stock up big!
As for my own list, here is what I plan to pick up but I always find my actually basket on the day blows out way bigger than my prepared list (sorry, not sorry). That's what credit cards are for though, right?
  • Heaps of Sally Hansen Salon Gel shades - in a perfect world, I would own them all!
  • Maybe try some of the Opallac gel polishes too
  • Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in black, brown and whatever other shades catch my eye
  • Maybelline HyperSharp Liner because mine has dried out.
  • Max Factor Lip Liners - these look good and I've never tried them so why not?
  • More Bourjois lip liner shades
  • Heaps of Essence - I basically plan to just raid the stand because it is cheap full price but at 40% off, everything just screams why the hell not?
  • L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Medium/Dark because mine is pretty old now and could use replacing
  • L'Oreal Infallible Matte FX Lip Colour because they are new, look awesome and I need to try them
  • More L'Oreal Infallible Long Wear Lip Gloss shades!
  • Savvy Ultra Matte Lip Colour because I hear nothing but good things and I really want to try out a matte liquid lipstick
  • The new Burt's Bees lipsticks if they are in stock because they look amazing
It is also worth mentioning that if your basket starts getting really out of control, you may want to put back the L'Oreal, Rimmel, Maybelline and Revlon products and get them at the upcoming Chemist Warehouse 50% off sale a little birdy told me will be in May. It makes more sense to get the stuff you can't get later at the Priceline sale and then take a few pay-days to recover so you can get the rest at the Chemist Warehouse sale. I spend tons of money on makeup but I never spend a cent more than I need too, especially on drugstore makeup. It's all about smart shopping.

Thanks for sticking with me though this mammoth post! I didn't mean for it to get that long but I find that with every big Priceline sale people are on the lookout for suggestions so I wanted to help you out. I also would love to know what your drugstore favourites are and what you plan to pick up at the sale so leave your lists in the comments below. Happy shopping!

Stay Rosy.

    1. I totally know what you mean. I was actually pretty reserved because a lot was sold out. The thing I most wanted to get were more of the Sally Hansen Salon Gel polishes so I was happy just getting those and a few back ups.

  3. I'm going to try and be restrained and stick to my list but may have a cheeky browse...haha! Great recommendations though! I'll definitely be picking up the Loreal cushion foundation (provided my shade is in stock!)!
