Nude By Nature Mineral Finishing Veil and Finishing Brush

Wednesday, 2 March 2016
I recently received these gorgeous products from Nude by Nature to try out. The Mineral Finishing Veil has been part of the permanent collection for a really long time but Nude by Nature just released a whole new Pro Brush Collection which includes this Finishing Brush. This big, soft powder brush and finely milled finishing powder are really a match made in heaven.

Nude By Nature Mineral Finishing Veil $39.95
I did use the Mineral Foundation in this range a while ago and while it is nice, I really prefer the dewier finish I get from a liquid foundation. When I was using the Mineral Foundation though, I was always really confused as to why there was a finishing powder in a range with no liquid or cream products. Their range has since expanded though and I have to say I really like this finishing powder with my liquid foundations to make it last all day. It is really finely milled and invisible on the skin. The packaging is good too with a twist closure on the dispenser to prevent loose powder getting everywhere which is my pet hate. The one thing I will say is that it is a little pricey for "drugstore" when compared to other great setting powders you can find in Priceline but it is still a really nice product.

Nude By Nature Finishing Brush $29.95
I was really pleasantly surprised by this brush from the second I saw it. It is really beautiful and has a decent weight to it which makes it feel more sturdy and high end. The bristles are exceptionally soft and dense enough so that it holds its shape. It is a fairly full round brush that has a slightly tapered end. Usually I prefer a flatter top powder brush that I can dab on (like the Lulu & Lipstick Powder Brush $35) but the tapered end gives a little more precision when I only want to powder my T-zone or even apply a diffused wash of bronzer. That said though, it definitely is big enough to use as an all over powder brush.
I've been using this brush for a few days and I even tried pulling and working the bristles and it hasn't shed a single bristle. For the longest time, the only really decent brushes at Priceline were Real Techniques and while they are awesome, it is good to have a new kid on the block that stacks up.

So there you have my review of these two products from Nude by Nature. I already have a lot of powders I like such as the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder ($20.00) or Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder ($73) which I probably will keep reaching for. If you are looking for a new loose setting powder though, this one might be worth a look. I was definitely most impressed by the brush though and can't wait to check out some more.

Will you be purchasing either of these to try? Do you already have some of the other brushes that you would recommend that I try? Let me know in the comments below.

Stay Rosy.

  1. I'm so obsessed with this powder, it's probably a problem!! I literally go through this stuff like crazy because I'm so oily and sweaty, it's like a miracle worker! As soon as I see one bit of oil or sweat, I use this and my skin looks perfect again hahah x

  2. I have been loving the powder for setting my makeup, I am the same as Katina and an oily gal so this powder has been so good for fixing up my shine throughout the day. The new brush collection looks so so good.

    1. I'm always wary recommending powders since I have dry skin that doesn't really put them to the test. It's great to know it works so well for you though. The brush collection is so gorgeous too. I'm looking forward to trying more. Thanks for reading :)

  3. $40 seems a bit steep for a drugstore powder, especially when one of my faves Rimmel London is less than $10! That brush looks fantastic though, would definitely look at that one when I'm in a store with a stand next :)

    1. I do agree with you there Kate, especially when my favourite Chanel powder actually works out cheaper because it is a 30g tub for about $75. That said though it is still good, there just might be better out there for the price. You should definitely check out the brushes though :)
