Easter Pastel Nails by Essie

Sunday, 27 March 2016
First of all... Happy Easter! I hope you have all been enjoying the long weekend and getting in some much needed R & R. I of course took the time off as an opportunity to sit down and indulge in some nail art while watching Netflix (I'm all about Shadowhunters and Daredevil at the moment!). I saw this nail art on Pinterest ages ago and just knew I had to try it out for Easter.

So here is my Pinterest inspiration. If you want tons more nail art inspo don't forget to check out my nail art board.

Essie Pastel Nail Polish Nail Swatch Easter Bikini So Teeny Fiji Mint Candy Apple Nice is Nice Good As Gold

To achieve my own version of this I used the following Essie Shades (left to right):
  • Bikini So Teeny - a bright sky blue with a hint of subtle shimmer
  • Fiji - opaque baby pink creme
  • Mint Candy Apple - opaque light mint green creme
  • Nice is Nice - light lavender jelly
  • Good As Gold - light gold metallic

All of these Essie formulas are amazing as always and it is worth noting that I took this nail swatch after about 2 days of wear because I just didn't get around it it earlier and they still look great. The best part about the french tip too is if you chip the edge, you could just redo the tip and get a few extra days out of your manicure. I used these super cheap french manicure guides from eBay or you can free hand it if you're game. My biggest tip though would be to let you base pastel colours set overnight and add your tips the next day just to make sure you don't pull the base colour off with your french tip guides.

Of course this is great Easter themed nail art look but it would also be great for Spring or really whenever if you are lover of pastel shades like me. I have been so into my nails lately and I can't really remember the last time they were bare! Let me know if you want the nail polish reviews and nail art posts to keep coming.

Which are your favourite pastel, Easter appropriate nail polish shades? Will you be picking any of these up after reading my review? Let me know in the comments below.

Stay Rosy.

    1. Haha it is the most adorable bright blue shade! And you should definitely check out Nice is Nice! I really love it, especially with a silver glitter accent nail.

  2. Good as Gold looks beautiful! Does it apply evenly? I find that some Essie nail polishes tend to be really patchy!

    1. I'll be honest, these metallic shades are always a bit tricky to work with. They are the sort of polish that you need to apply quickly and confidently with three distinct strokes. If you try to go back over your nail it looks awful. I generally like Essie polishes though.
