Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadows

Wednesday, 20 January 2016
Considering the renewed buzz around the Maybelline Colour Tattoo collection thanks to the new crayons that were just released in the U.S., I figured it was time to break these babies out since I never actually reviewed them. I can also share some exciting news that the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Leather Collection will finally be launching in Australia very soon (a little Priceline birdie told me!) so keep your eyes peeled. I have these little pots of magic for quite a while and I still use them frequently, even though I now have a frankly out of control collection of high end eyeshadow.

I have the shades (L to R):

  • 55 Inked in Pink - a gorgeous medium metallic pink
  • 70 Barely Branded - a bright champagne gold
  • 45 Bold Gold - a brilliant true gold
  • 25 Bad to the Bronze - a beautiful neutral bronze
  • 35 Tough as Taupe - a matte cool toned taupe

For me the standout of the entire collection is Bad to the Bronze. It still remains one of my all time favourite eyeshadows and looks gorgeous on its own or smoked out with a dark brown. That said though, the formula of these is fantastic and very consistent across the shades so it really just comes down to colour preference. They all apply beautifully, never crease and last all day. Once these set, you can even rub at them and they won't budge. I haven't even had trouble with them drying out and I have had these particular pots for a long time. To be honest, I wish Maybelline had a range of 100 colours in this range because the formulation is absolutely spot on.

I can't wait for the matte Leather Collection to finally launch here since it launched in the US over 12 months ago. We will be getting the shades Vintage Plum, Creamy Beige, Chocolate Suede and Dramatic Black. I also really hope that these new crayons hit our shores soon as well. They look amazing! As of yet there is no news on the release date but we got the last collections quite quickly so fingers crossed!

Have you already jumped on the cult favourite Colour Tattoo bandwagon? Will you be running out to dip you toe into this gorgeous range? Let me know in the comments below.

Stay Rosy
