L'Oreal Infallible Long Wear Lip Glosses

Sunday, 17 January 2016
I'm not really one for lip glosses but when I see a gorgeous pink shade, especially one without shimmer, I can't really help myself! I really do like these new L'Oreal Infallible Long Wear Lip Gloss, even enough to brave the ever annoying lipgloss + long hair + wind dilemma.

These retail for $21.95 but if you can pick them up on sale for up to 50% off like I did they are an absolute bargain! The one thing that perplexed me a little bit was the name though. These are very lovely and moisturising but they certainly aren't long wearing. I only got about 2 hours out of them which is fine because I would rather have something that is moisturising. I really think they got the name wrong with these because people who purchase them might be disappointed the aren't getting what they expected, which is a shame because they are quite beautiful glosses.

The formula is thin, comfortable and not at all sticky. It definitely applies smoothly and evenly, and doesn't gloop up on the lips. These are definitely a sheerer gloss but I can still get a nice colour payoff. I also adore the sleek, minimalist packaging that actually looks quite high end.

I initially picked up the shade 109 Fight For It which is a beautiful rosy pink. It is gorgeous by itself for a more subtle look or is lovely layered over any nude or pink lipstick to give it a little shine and depth.

Once I had tried the formula and knew it was a winner, I also went back and picked up 101 Girl On Top which is a gorgeous warm pink nude gloss. Can we just pause to appreciate the empowering names? I particularly like this one because all my other nude glosses are quite muted and cool toned. This is a gorgeous warmer pink alternative. Neither of these shades have shimmer in them which I generally prefer and can actually be difficult to find.

Now for the slightly odd, tiny little con aside from the confusing name. The doe foot applicator on these is seriously weird. They decided for whatever reason to make it bent in the middle to form a wonky zig zag. I have used these a few times and can't really come up with any benefit behind it. I would much rather have had a typical doe foot applicator that is slightly curved to hug the lip. Either way though, it isn't really an issue and certainly isn't enough to make me stop using this gorgeous glosses.
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend checking out these new L'Oreal lip glosses. Have you tried any other shades in this new lipgloss range? I'm thinking about buying more because I really like the formula so I'd love some shade recommendations. Will you be running out to pick yourself up some to try out? Let me know in the comments section below.

Stay Rosy.

  1. Fight for it looks like such a gorgeous colour on you! I'm not a huge fan of lip glosses but these ones look like they have great pigmentation :)

    1. Thanks, they are quite lovely. They are still on the sheerer side but the colour payoff is good.
