Latest From Rimmel

Tuesday, 22 December 2015
Rimmel have had a few new releases lately so I though it would be a great time to give you a quick overview of them. I have particularly been liking the foundation and it is so refreshing for me to be able to find a colour match at Priceline!
Rimmel Match Perfection $18.95
This doesn't seem to be up online yet but I have definitely seen it in stores. I had heard so many good things about the old formula of this foundation and I did quite like the concealer so I was happy to try this out. I was also quite impressed because it makes for a great every day affordable foundation. First of all, the colour range is really good and goes much lighter than most with different undertones. Also, it gives a medium coverage natural velvet finish (not matte but not dewy), is very easily blendable and lasts well throughout the day, even in the 35 degree heat I'm currently sweating through. Overall, it is certainly one of the better drugstore foundations I have tried and I definitely can't fault it for the price.

Rimmel Fix & Protect Makeup Primer $13.95
To be honest, I usually don't like primers with SPF because the often smell funny or leave my otherwise dry skin really shiny. This one does leave a slight sheen to the skin but it is nothing that can't be handled with a bit of powder. My favourite part of this is the high SPF while still being comfortable but it did also noticably extend the wear time of my makeup as well. It doesn't quite beat out the smooth feel of my drugstore favourite Face of Australia primer but it has SPF which is definitely a huge plus. I think it would be a great every day primer for dry to medium skin though the oilier ladies might need something more mattifying.

Rimmel 24HR Supercurler Mascara $17.95
So many brands have been coming out with curler mascaras lately and while I do love the Benefit Rollerlash and Maybelline Lash Sensational, I still don't think any of these formulas can really replace a lash curler. That said though, it is still a nice mascara. It is a beautiful intense black and doesn't smudge or flake but I like a little more lengthening from my mascaras. You can see it gives nice natural definition and decent volume but I didn't notice any particularly different curl power. If you like a more natural everyday lash though it would be perfect.
Bare Lashes
Curled with two coats.
So there you have a quick review of the latest offerings from Rimmel. The standout for me is probably the foundation and primer but they are all very good products. I am also really looking forward to reviewing the new Rimmel gel nail polishes so stay tuned for that. Hopefully they will arrive soon. Will you be trying any of these new products from Rimmel? Have you already? I would love to know your thoughts so leave me a comment below.

Stay Rosy.
