November Favourites

Sunday, 29 November 2015
This month has been quite an interesting mix of discovering new favourites as well as some that I have had for a while but forgotten about. Occasionally I like to shop my stash to get some use out of products that I have forgotten about and this month I found some great ones.

Narsissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette
This was a limited edition palette but you can still buy the single shades for $42. I'll be honest that I didn't really love this palette when I first used it and I thought it lacked the sort of pigmentation and oomph this formula was praised for. I didn't use it much at all for about 6 months until I finally tried with a spritz of setting spray on my brush and now I am in love! The shadows really excel when they are a tiny bit wet. They almost look like a foiled cream shadow and have some serious colour pay off. I have definitely been using it a lot more lately and if you wanted to pick up just one shade in a single I would really recommend "Himalia"which is a beautiful vibrant gold.

Maybelline Brow Satin Duo $16.95
I have already posted a full review of this product (here) but suffice to say I am still completely enamored with it. I really do think it is one of the best brow products you can find at the drugstore with a well thought out duo of blendable crayon and brow powder. While the colour range is small it is also really good with the ashy dark brown that doesn't pull too red. There is also dark blond and medium brown shades which should suit most people although those with red or black hair might have some trouble.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation $18.95
To find a colour match in drugstore foundations is a miracle in itself for me but this foundation happens to be amazing to boot. I love using it for an everyday, medium coverage and I find I can even turn it into a gorgeous dewy foundation by adding just a little bit of my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector liquid. The only downside to this otherwise incredible foundation is the fact that there is no pump. I would even be willing to pay an extra couple of bucks to buy one separately like with Nars.

Dior Addict Gloss in 442 Petillante $49
This is another limited edition product from the 2014 Trianon Spring Collection but the permanent shade "Delice" looks very similar. I came home from my Europe Trip completely obsessed with Versailles and the Petit Trianon so I was of course unable to resist buying this gloss. I admit, 50 bucks is a lot for a gloss but sometimes you gotta treat yo' self. The formula is really pretty and comfortable to wear with no stickiness. I also love the shade because it is perfect over most peach or pink lipsticks or even by itself. Maybelline, Covergirl and Rimmel all make great cheap lip glosses but if you want to splurge a little bit you can't go wrong with these Dior glosses.

Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 72 Rose Initial $71
One quick look at my #MOTDs on Instagram would tell you I have been using this blush a lot. It is the most beautiful rosy pink with a hint of peach that looks so natural and flattering. It also has really fine shimmer which is enough to give a subtle glow without your cheeks looking at all glittery. It blends beautifully and is clearly a high end blush in packaging, quality and longevity. I also use it on a daily basis because it is the perfect duo with my number 1 lipstick at the moment; Chanel Rouge Coco in Edith.

Nuxe Nuxellence Detox Anti-Aging Night Serum $64.99
I reviewed this one earlier in the month (here) but I have continued to use it every single night. It is the most refreshing light serum that smells lovely and makes my skin feel great. I really notice the intense moisturisation as it is designed not only to moisturise on its own, but also to boost the effects of all the other skincare you use after. My night routine for the last month has consisted of this serum, the Nuxe Crème Prodigiuse Eye Cream and Night Cream and sometimes a facial oil like jojoba oil. My skin is certainly thanking me for the extra care. If you haven't tried Nuxe products yet, you really need to.

So there you have my favourites for this month. I would love to hear about the products you have been lovely lately. I'm always keen to find new things for next month's favourites.

Stay Rosy.

  1. That blush & eyeshadow palette look beautiful! I would love to try out some Nars eyeshadows. It's a shame it isn't great on its own but it's great that you got it working for you! x

    1. Yeah I agree it is a bit of a pain to have to use setting spray but the the payoff is gorgeous enough that I don't mind. I am also just happy that I can get some use out of a really expensive palette I didn't actually like at first.
