Rimmel Nude Collection by Kate Moss

Sunday, 4 October 2015
Is there anything harder to find than the "perfect nude"? I honestly don't think so which is why I love this new nude lipstick collection by Rimmel with it's very different range of undertones and shades to suit every skin tone. I promise that everyone is bound to find at least one lipstick in this range to suit their skin tone.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lip Liner $12.50
First up... the lip liner! I absolutely love clear lip liners because you basically only need on, instead of a million different shades of liners, and you can be pretty haphazard with the application and no one will be the wiser! They also really extend the life of my lipstick and make the application far smoother. Think of them as the perfect lip primer! I usually use the Innoxa one but this Rimmel liner is easily as good (if not better) and cheaper, so win-win!

Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Nude Collection in #40 $12.95
If you have ever tried any of the Rimmel Kate lipsticks you will know that they are exceptional value for money and known for being some of the best drugstore lipsticks around. This collection lives up to that great reputation, with a pleasant creamy formula a good colour payoff. This #40 shade is a very light warm toned peachy nude and while it definitely suits my pale skin I prefer my nude to be a little pinker so this one probably isn't the best one for me even though it is the lightest. If you are pale, don't necessarily go for the lightest one and likewise those who are tan shouldn't automatically reach for the middle of the range. Think about what you want from a nude and if the answer to that question is a "true" light nude (think MAC Myth) then #40 is the one for you!
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Nude Collection in #42 $12.95
Alternatively, if you are looking for a slightly pinker light nude, #42 is definitely the one you should pick up! It is the closest shade to my natural lip colour which gives me a really good "my lips but better" nude look.
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Nude Collection in #43 $12.95
This shade is definitely the most polarising of the collection and it will pull very orange on all but the warmest skin tones. Definitely stay away if you are cool or neutral toned unless you are looking for a very specific look. On me it looks very orange but that just goes to show that everyone needs different things from a nude. I could see this looking really nice on medium to dark warm skin tones though.
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Nude Collection in #45 $12.95
And now for my favourite! This is the most popular shade in the collection and I have seen a lot of people raving about it. I think the reason it is so popular is that it is the most universal of all these nude shades and would easily suit a wide range of people. It is a rosy pink nude with slightly cooler mauve-like undertones. Basically, it is beautiful! On me it is quite pink but that is just because I am so pale. I really can't think of a skin tone this shade wouldn't look good on! If you only get one shade from the collection, make it this one.
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Nude Collection in #48 $12.95
My first thought when I saw this shade was; "Well there is no way that is going to suit me!" I was actually really pleasantly surprised and, while it definitely isn't a nude on my skin tone, it is still a gorgeous warm brown shade that looks quite dramatic and lovely. Also, can we just pause to appreciate the smooth application that is even more clear with a darker shade! I also want to commend Rimmel for catering for extremely light and extremely dark skin tones with this range. They really have tried to create a small shade range to suit a large amount of people and I really think they succeeded.

For a comparison swatch and close up of all the lipstick shades.
Left to right: #40, #42, #43, #45 and #48

I really think this is a fantastic range of affordable nude lipsticks that are great quality and come in some fantastic shades to suit every skin tone and nude preference. I think that everyone could find at least one they like. For instance, I could happily wear all but #43, which is much too warm for me, and I have an exceptionally difficult super pale skin tone that makes finding a nice nude about as easy as finding a unicorn or four leaf clover! I would really recommend that you have a swatch next time you are at a Rimmel stand if you are in the market for a new nude lippie because I really think you will love them!

Stay Rosy.
