OPI Venice Collection

Wednesday, 21 October 2015
Who doesn't love Venice? I have definitely been loving these gorgeous new Fall/Winter 2015 polish shades from OPI lately. I always love these little gift packs because it allows you to try way more colours of a limited edition for less and, let's face it, who ever uses up a full bottle of nail polish? This gift pack ($24.95) is adorably names "little bambinos" (little babies!) mini nail lacquers and includes four of the 15 shades in the Venice collection to try out.

"A Great Opera-tunity" and "Worth a Pretty Penne"
A Great Opera-Tunity is a really quite unique pinky-orange/melon creme finish. I have always found orange nail polish shades a little streaky (there is just something about the colour) but this is definitely one of the best formulas I have used. That being said though, unfortunately it just didn't suit my very pale skin which is a bummer because I know this would look gorgeous on those with medium warm-toned skin.

Worth A Pretty Penne is an absolutely beautiful copper toned fine shimmer. The formula is fantastic as well and it was completely opaque in two very thin coats. For a glitter polish it actually wore very well too, instead of flaking off at the slightest bump like many fine glitters tend to do. Also, even though this is warmed toned as well, it suited my skin a lot more and looked lovely.

"Amore at the Grand Canal"

Mamma mia, this is a beautiful red! It is one of those gorgeous rich, true blood reds. The formula is absolutely flawless as more of a gel consistency that is fully opaque in two thin coats. It also lasts a long time and I managed to clean up my entire apartment (dusting, chemicals, scrubbing, the lot!) without chipping my fresh manicure which never happens. I definitely think this is my favourite pick from these four shades!

"My Gondola or Yours?"

This is a bit of sexy name! I really like this shade because it reminds me of the gleaming black gondolas I went on in Venice! I am also pretty sure this has the most subtle shimmer through it, which is almost invisible yet really pretty. I was most impressed by this formula. I am currently wearing it on day five with only the tiniest chip on one hand and I can easily wear it all week which never happens when I wear nail polish. It also applied particularly beautiful and was opaque in two thing coats which dried very fast. Honestly, I'm usually not one for black nail polishes but this is one I can get on board with.

Unsurprisingly, OPI continued to live up to every expectation with this mini set! I can basically see myself purchasing these mini sets (if I didn't get them as PR samples like this one) every single season because they are great value and amazing quality and they let me try out all the newest shades at a fraction of the cost of buying the full sizes. Which of these shades is your favourite? Will you be picking up any polishes from the OPI Venice Collection? Let me know down below.

Now to finish with a gratuitous shot of the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge! Oh please, take me back to Italia!

Stay Rosy.
