Review: Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser and Apostle Serum

Saturday, 22 August 2015
I had heard a lot of people rave about Antipodes skincare products before so I was very excited to finally try some out. I got the Grapeseed Butter Cleanser and Apostle Skin Brightening Serum to start with. My main skin problems are dehydration and dullness so these products were a perfect fit.

Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser $46
This is simultaneously the most unusual and fantastic cleaner I have ever used. It is very thick and moisturising and doesn't actually feel like a typical cleanser. It has a cacao butter and olive oil base with soothing chamomile and lavender as well. It is quite a heavy formula and feels very oily and odd as I am washing with it but as soon as I rinsed it off it left my skin insanely soft and moisturised. It is basically a cleanser and moisturiser in one! Honestly, it is the most surprising cleanser I've used but I absolutely love it. It is absolutely perfect for my dry skin. If you dry ladies are struggling to find yourself a nice winter cleanser, look no further!

Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening Serum $59
First of all, this serum is a lovely texture and smells amazing. I very quickly noticed that this serum made my skin a bit brighter which surprised me because I didn't expect to see results that fast. Of course for the best effects I would have to use it for a few months, but I was impressed by the initial results over just a week or two and would definitely say it is worth it if you are looking for a skincare splurge for dull skin. Also, unlike some other serums I have tried that were a little stickly or smelly, this one is very light and comfortable on the skin, has a light pleasant fragrance and even works well under makeup. It soaks in almost instantly which makes it good for morning and night.

These are the first products I have tried from Antipodes and I am very impressed. The are a great brand with excellent organic, vegetarian and natural based products. Though they are more high end then a lot of the other brands at Priceline, I would say they are definitely worth the splurge. I also really want to try the Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day cream next because I absolutely love vanilla and I'm sure it will be the same great quality. I'd love to know if you have tried any Antipodes products or which ones are on your wishlist at the moment so please leave me a comment below.

Stay Rosy.

  1. I like a lot of what I've tried from Antipodes, but definitely need to try more! I have a couple of travel sizes of the Apostle serum which I'm so excited to use! The Butter cleanser sounds lovely too, I love balm cleansers!

    1. I'd actually never tried a balm cleanser like this but maybe I should try more because this one was great! :)

  2. Wow the cleanser looks lovely - very different to anything I've used before. I really like Antipodes products, I've tried a few and haven't been disappointed. My fave is the Aura Manuka Honey Mask.
