MAC Haul

Sunday, 16 August 2015
Is there anything more exciting that a MAC haul? I always get ridiculously excited when I get anything new from MAC and this assortment of goodies basically had my squealing and jumping up and down so I simply had to review them all for you.

MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Lush Life $46

When I first saw this lipstick I thought it would be way too dark for my but I was happy to see when I swatched it that it was a gorgeous (and totally wearable) deep cool-toned frosty plum. I'm desperately trying to branch out from my typical light pink/peach staple lippie shade and this is a fantastic one to do that with. I also love that these Mineralize Rich Lipsticks are a little more lightweight that the regular formulas while also feeling really smooth and moisturising. This shade really reminds me of Rebel but seems to be a little more sheer. Also, even though the packaging is a bit of an odd shape, there is a magnetic closure that is oddly satisfying when I close the lipstick (don't mind me, I'm weird about packaging). The only problem is that because it is a thinner and moister lipstick it can be tricky to get a nice crisp edge but I prefer the feel of it so that is a perfectly fine trade off in my opinion.

MAC Mineralize Glass in New Love $43

This is is the exact fuchsia pink lip shade I love with beautiful blue undertones which have the added benefit of making my teeth look whiter. It is a thicker gloss with a medium opacity. It also has a very sweet smell about it which isn't at all unpleasant but is stronger than some people might like. This is the first MAC lipglass I have tried and I actually really like it. It is also fairly long wearing and very comfortable on the lips so thumbs up all around!

MAC Pro Longwear Blush in Rosy Outlook $43

I would be ashamed at how excited I got about this shade having basically the same name as my blog if it wasn't already well established that I get ridiculously hyped about makeup in general. This blush is a gorgeous matte pink with a light yellow/coral undertone. All of my baby pink blushes are more cool/blue toned so this is a very welcome new addition. I also love the smooth, finely milled texture and the great staying power of the Pro Longwear formula. I'm sure I don't need to harp on about the quality of MAC products, but this is a really great blush. It also has enough pigmentation that you don't have to really build it up but it is very forgiving too, and impossible to overdo which makes it great for my morning rush.

MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadow in Pink Frontier and Lie Low $48

I am obsessed with the custom neutral MAC eye shadow palette so I was really keen to try more of the Pro Longwear shades. Pink Frontier is a gorgeous frosty rose gold shade while Lie Low is a medium gold brown. Because these both have gold undertones, they work really well together and I have been wearing Pink Frontier all over the lid and Lie Low in my crease and outer-v. I absolutely love these two shades, especially together. The formulas are also very silky, pigmented and blendable; exactly as you would expect from MAC eye shadows.
Left to right: Rosy Outlook blush, Pink Frontier eyeshadow and Lie Low eyeshadow.
Because these are all really complementary colours I decided to do a look with all these products. I really liked how the lipstick and gloss pops with my pale skin and dark hair! I used Pink Frontier all over my lid and Lie Low to shade my crease and outer v. Then I just blended out with some bronzer as my transition shade.

Lipstick and Lip Glass.
Here are all the products I used in the look...
All in all, I am very happy with all of these products. They are definitely true to the great quality we all expect from MAC products. I particularly like the blush (most adorable name and fantastic blendable formula) and the Mineralise Lip Glass because I simply adore the colour but they are all wonderful. Will you be picking up any of these products? I would also love to know what MAC products are on your wishlist right now, so leave me a comment below.

Stay Rosy.

  1. Ahh the blush looks so pretty! So much of my collection is straight up peachy-pinks, but I don't really have any yellow based pinks! The lipstick and lip glass look lovely. I love shades like those :)
