June Favourites

Sunday, 5 July 2015
I know it is a little bit late this month but I have been furiously DIY-ing to get my filming space ready. June is that simply great month where my already dry skin starts throwing a winter tantrum so a lot of my favourites this month are skincare. That said though, there are still a couple of great makeup picks too.

Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturising and Brightening Cream $48
I actually wasn't too sure about this one when I first bought it but I have really started to love it! The reason I was a bit iffy at first was that it is a lot heavier than the creams I usually use, especially in the morning, but my skin is so dry so I really do need to give heavier formulas a good go. I was happy I stuck with this one because it has certainly made my skin a lot softer and more hydrated. It also smells amazing and feels quite luxe. If you have oily skin this isn't the cream for you but I see on the Mecca site that they just released a new formulation for oily to combination skin so maybe check that one out.

Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye $95
I got this in a Marie Claire Parcel edition and only recently tried it out and I'm in love! It's actually bad that I loved it so much because I'm pretty sure I can't afford to buy the full sized tub when I finish it and that just makes me sad. I have used a few eye creams and this is the only one that I feel is actually making any difference at all. It also works really well under makeup and actually makes my under-eye concealer look better, rather than making it crease. Like I said, this one is very exxy but it actually works and if you have the money to splurge, I say you should do it because it is easily the best eye cream I've ever used.

Designer Makeup Tools 418VS-30 Rounded Buffer Brush $13.95
I have been nothing but impressed with this brush since I bought it, especially since it is only $13.95! I got this brush from the pro supply store Makeup and Glow in Brisbane which is open to the public on Saturdays and the also have an online store. This brush is easily as soft and dense as my favourite Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush but I really love the compact rounded shape. I have been using it for foundation, cream blush, liquid and cream highlighters and I have been particularly loving it for my Chanel Tan De Chanel cream bronzing base. Basically it is an amazing brush and I would highly recommend it, especially for the price. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the Sigma kabukis too these would be amazing for you and they make them in a few different shapes and sizes too. I have a few other DMT brushes and you really cannot fault them. They are amazing and so cheap.

MAC Lipstick in Angel $36
I have a few favourite pinky nudes that I kind of rotate through and right now I'm all about Angel! It is a simply lovely light baby pink lipstick that is perfect for everyday. There is a very good reason it is a cult favourite and if you haven't swatched it already definitely take a look next time you are at a MAC counter. I particularly love wearing this with a bronze eyeshadow, baby pink blush and bronzer for a gorgeous everyday look. I'm actually going to do a get ready with me vid of this look so stay tuned.

Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder $11.95
If you have been reading my posts lately you would know how obsessed I am with this powder now that Australis have doubled their colour range and they actually have a shade light enough for me! I can see why it is so popular because it gives great coverage, is finely milled and mattifies really nicely. Basically for twelve dollars this powder can't be beat and it goes on sale a lot so go for it! I actually just got the Fresh & Flawless liquid foundation to try out so hopefully it is just as good. Look out for a review on it really soon.

So there are my June favourites. I can wholeheartedly recommend all of them. I would also love to know what products you have been loving lately.

Stay Rosy.
