Review: Physician's Formula Argan Wear Bronzers

Saturday, 20 June 2015
To follow up from my review of the Physican's Formula Argan Wear blushes, here are their bronzier brethren. Seemingly capitalising on the Argan Oil craze at the moment, these Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil Bronzers retail for $29.95. They are not available online from Priceline yet but you can buy them directly from the Physician's Formula website.
Of course these look absolutely stunning, just look at the pan pattern! Like the blushes though they have quite a strong argan oil smell that might bother some more sensitive noses and the gold glitter over-spray is an absolute mess on the face. It has to basically be wiped away before you can use the product. I appreciate that they were trying to make the pan beautiful but aesthetics shouldn't negatively affect the product. Also the packaging is pretty bulky which probably only bothers OCD people like me who want all their makeup to fit in perfectly into acrylic storage.
Here is the packaging and as you can see you have the pan in the middle which hinges up to reveal a little brush and mirror. The brush is actually okay but I generally never use the tiny, fiddly brushes that come with products because I find my usual brushes are always better.

I actually really love that these come in two shades and the lightest one suits even my palest skin! I'm sure all the fair skinned girls know the struggle of finding a bronzer that isn't too dark or too orange so that is definitely a plus!
Left to right: Light Bronzer and Bronzer
As you can see form the swatches these aren't matte bronzers but at the same time the gold shimmer particles are really finely milled and very flattering. These bronzers are designed to deliver a "sunlit, just-back-from-Morocco glow" and I'm actually pretty impressed because they are a little different from a lot of the bronzers I've tried. They honestly remind me a little of the Hourglass powders which although they have some shimmer, it is so fine and flattering. I definitely wouldn't recommend these for contouring but they are great for warming up the complexion and adding a glow. I even take my biggest fluffy brush and dust it over my neck and shoulders too. I definitely see myself using this kind of bronzer more in summer.

So despite the few little packaging issues, I actually really like these bronzers and it gives me a nice alternative to the matte bronzers I generally reach for like Benefit Hoola and The Body Shop Honey Bronze. Will you be trying out some of the new Physician's Formula Argan Wear range? Let me know in the comments: I'd love to know how you get on with them!

Stay Rosy.
