The Arrival Experience
The staff at the Harbour Day Spa are very friendly and professional. As soon as Jacquelyn (of Hey There Jacquelyn) and I arrived we were greeted and offered Raspberry & Lime tea while we waited briefly for our beauty therapists. We also browsed though the various giftware and gorgeous candles as well.
We were quickly moved into a changing room to get into our bathrobe and flip flops and we went to wait in the tranquil sitting room with comfy chairs, soft lighting, mood music and the most amazing fragrant candles to get you ready for amazing pampering. There were also nibbles and drinks if you needed a refreshment.
The Spa Treatment
Before our treatments we had a Visia Skin Analysis which reveals deeper information about skin condition, oil production, clogged pores and pigmentation. It diagnoses skin issues so a facial can be targeted for your personal skin needs. My scan unsurprisingly revealed pigmentation issues which has reminded me that I really do need to get into the habit of applying a sunscreen every single day. Wear your sunscreen, ladies! Other than pigmentation and dehydration my skin is fairly okay.
We were then moved into the couples suite because we booked for our treatments together to make things more fun. They also have single rooms for a more private experience. The room was lovely, a perfect temperature with dim lighting, soft music and lovely scents. The room also includes a spa bath for other treatments on the menus including the milk, honey and rose petal spa bath (which sounds amazing!) and creamy almond milk bath. They even offer a gorgeous Cozy Couple Retreat package which includes a spa bath, full body massage and champagne for you and your significant other.
Once we were all massaged and relaxed it was time to flip over for a hydrating facial which also included the most amazing face, neck and decolletage massage. The back of my neck is officially the favourite part of my body to have massaged. It is basically like transcendent heaven right here on earth. I challenge you to try it an not agree. It also only just beats the lovely warm towels they use to clean you off afterwards. The facial included a full cleanse, exfoliation, mask, serum, moisturise and weightless sunscreen using the O Cosmedics range of skincare products which I actually really like and look forward to trying more of in the future. We then finished our treatment with a warm coconut scalp treatment and massage.
Glammin' Up
After our treatments were finished, we still had plenty more pampering to go. As we were told, Harbour Day Spa thinks the full experience is important. So many spa treatments leave you feeling awesome but you often leave with a bare face and bedraggled hair. To provide a full experience, they want you to leave looking as awesome as you feel. For this reason they offer the full shampoo, blowdry and makeup works to leave you glam and glowy. We moved to the salon section of the spa to have our shampoo and blow dry. We even had our hair styled into loose glam curls too. My hair stylist, Kristen, was even lovely enough to talk me through what she was doing and teach me how to get the gorgeous loose curls with a blow dry and flat iron since I can never get it quite right.
After our hair looked amazing, it was time for a quick makeup application. The makeup was a light, everyday makeup which I really liked. The lovely beautician used Curtis Collection by Victoria cosmetics and I loved them so much I even bought the BB cream and blush she used to take home. Expect a full review on the goodies I picked up at the spa very soon too.
So there is my entire experience at Harbour Day Spa and as you could probably tell it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I know a spa pamper day can be a big expense but it is absolutely 100% worth it and honestly, you deserve it. I will definitely be visiting this spa in the future for hair cuts, massages and facials. Thanks to Jacquelyn for coming with me and making it such an amazing day. Also, a big thank you to all the lovely staff at Harbour Day Spa who treated us to such an amazing pamper session.
