Review: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Friday, 20 March 2015
This is by far my most hotly anticipated review of any product. When I showed my amazing early PR sample of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara everyone wanted to know my opinion of it so, without further ado, here it is...
As you would expect from Benefit, the packaging is adorable and well thought out. The ridges around the middle of the tube are so that it doesn't run away from you when you put it on a flat surface too which is really clever. I also quite like the brush too as well as the mechanism inside the tube which wipes off excess product that you can hear pop when you pull the wand out. The brush is slightly curved and has short dense bristles on one side and longer, sparser brushes on the other. The idea (I think!) is that you use the short dense bristles to really grab your lashes and pull the upwards to give them a curl and then use the other side of the brush to comb through and build up length. Benefit calls this the "Hook and Roll" where you hook onto the lashes and roll them up to create curl.
As with many of Benefit's products which is designed to solve beauty problems, this mascara is especially for those girls who either don't want to use an eyelash curler or whose lashes just won't hold a curl. Now I usually always like to use by curler because one of my eyes has lashes that grow in weird directions so curling them makes sure they aren't sticking out at weird angles. In saying that though, Benefit are definitely telling the truth when they say you can skip the curler. This mascara is also great for giving you a nice amount of volume and length.
Bare lashes
Left to right: one coat and two coats (you can really build up the length). I have not used an eyelash curler in this picture!
Comparison of Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara with CURLED lashes. You can see I get just as much curl using the Roller Lash without having to use an eyelash curler.
So as you can see, the Roller Lash definitely does exactly what it says and gives you nicely curled lashes that last all day without having to use an eyelash curler. It is also a really great mascara that gives a great general effect! Compared to the Benefit They're Real it is also very easy to remove because it is smudgeproof, but not waterproof. I do still prefer They're Real because I love really long, full drama, volumous lashes but this is a brilliant everyday mascara that I will be getting a lot of use out of.

The Benefit Roller Lash mascara will be released in Australia on 11th April from Myer Counters. Will you be rushing out to try this new release? I'd love to hear from you so please, leave a comment below.

Stay Rosy.
