Orly Sugar High Polish Collection

Friday, 27 February 2015
I received three of the six shades of the new Orly Sugar High nail polish collection. In addition to being in cutesy colours and having adorable baking and confectionery names, they are really high quality polishes. Firstly, these nail polishes are a really generous 18mL compared to Essie's 13.5mL or OPI's 15mL while being very much on par in quality for the same price. I got very good wear time on all of these compared to other high end nail polishes. I have an extensive Essie collection and they last easily as well as those.

Orly Nail Colour in "Candy Shop" $18.95
Candy Shop is a gorgeous dark mauve purple in a creme formula. I wasn't sure how this one would look on my pale skin but thanks the the muted colour it is actually very wearable. If you are looking for an understated shade of purple, definitely check this one out!
Candy Shop - 2 Coats
Orly Nail Colour in "Frosting" $18.95
This on is a gorgeous cream colour with tiny gold shimmer. It is really unique and I was most excited to try this one because of the gorgeous subtle gold glitter. There are also colours of shimmer in it as well to create a pearlescent sheen but the gold definitely shines through. Like many of these fine shimmer polishes it was slightly streaky on the first coat but was perfectly opaque with the second.

Orly Nail Colour in "Cake Pop" $18.95
In addition to have an absolutely adorable name, as a self confessed lover of all pink cosmetics, I really like this light pastel pink creme formula. It also has very subtle lilac/mauve undertones. This formula unlike many other light colours like this, is very high pay off and I achieved this completely opaque result in two coats. I have a lot of Essie pinks similar to this that are sheerer so it is good to have one I can rely on the be really opaque. plus it is a really nice shade and lasts well.
Cake Pop - 2 coats
Basically, I love all of these shades and the formula is great too. They apply well, the wear as well as any other high end polish. If you have never tried any Orly polishes I strongly recommend that you check them out. The colour range (either permanent or Limited Editions such as this Sugar High collection) is extensive and filled with gorgeous colours to choose from. I will certainly by adding to my Orly collection in the future.

Stay Rosy.
