Topshop Makeup Sale!

Monday, 19 January 2015
I went for a trip into the city for an eye test today and ONLY an eye test. Oh, who am I kidding? I tried I really did. I ended up stopping in at Topshop to look at their makeup range which I have heard good things about only to find they had a huge range of cosmetics already at really good sale prices but also another 25% of the reduced price. Naturally I walked out with a bag full. Here is what I picked up...

Glow Stick in "Play Up" - Sale Price $8.75
I saw Becca Rose (check her out!) use this in one of her YouTube videos and I had to try it out. It is creamy, easy to blend for a more natural highlight and a really flattering colour. I'm pretty impressed with this one. I was a bit bummed that the product fell out when I first opened it but I just popped it in the freezer for a bit and pushed it back in and it was all good.

Cream Blush in "Flush" - Sale Price $6.75
I love a good cream blush formula for a more natural look, especially for summer. This one is a beautiful colour and actually really quite pigmented for a cream blush. It probably won't last long on oiler skins but on my normal to dry skin it is perfect. I can see this one living in my hand bag because it is compact and finger-friendly.

Powder Blush in "Good Girl" - Sale Price $6.75
This just looked so pretty in the pan I couldn't say no. Unfortunately it isn't as pigmented as the cream blush but it is still very workable. It is also quite shimmery but great if you are after a true baby pink blush.

Lipstick in "Saint" - Sale Price $7.50
This pale pinky-nude shade is one I wouldn't usually go for but for less than 10 bucks I figured why not try it out. It is very light, even on my pale skin but I found it works really well with a pale pink gloss over the top to let the light pigmentation of the gloss shine though (does that make sense?). This under my Maybelline Lip Elixir gloss gave me a super glossy baby pink pout by masking the pigmentation of my own lips. I might not wear it alone but it is still super useful. I am also really impressed with the formula of these lipsticks. They are smooth, creamy, apply really well and even smell nice!

Lipstick in "Mink" - Sale Price $13.50
I am pretty sure I over paid for this lipstick and it was meant to be $7.50 too but what can you do? Just be careful when checking out with yours that all the sale prices go through properly. This is definitely a colour I don't wear but I'm trying to branch out. It is a darker pinky-brown nude though it does pull brown on my pale skin. It really reminds me of the MAC Twig, Rimmel Notting Hill Nude sorts of darker nudes that are really popular at the moment and I think will resurface as Aussies head into winter.
Swatches (left to right): Glow Stick, Cream Blush in "Flushed", Powder Blush in "Good Girl", Lipstick in "Saint" and Lipstick in "Mink".
So there is my little mini haul which all came to just $42.75. Have you tried any other makeup from Topshop that you could recommend? Will you be rushing into the store closest to you to try and pick some of these up while they are on crazy sale. Let me know in the comments below.

Stay Rosy.
