January Shop My Stash

Saturday, 31 January 2015
I have done these Shop My Stash posts in the past but I will endeavor to do them every month this year because they are such a great way for me to get some use out of products I haven't used in a while and bring them to the front of my mind so I can give you some feedback on them too as the month ticks by. Here are the products I pulled out from the more forgotten depths of my collection this month.

Inglot Custom Freedom Palette - $140
I honestly do not know why I don't use this one more because it's just so gosh darn pretty and I picked all the colours myself. I think it is because they are so cool toned and I've been gravitating towards warmer neutrals lately. Be that as it may, I'm definitely going to try to use it more. I have a post with all the shades I chose and swatches here.

Dior Addict Fluid Stick in 575 Wonderland - $50
I have begun to shy more and more away from bright colours lately despite how much I love this shade and my other hot pink colours because of my small lips and crooked teeth that I'm a little self conscious about. I have vowed to ignore my silly hangups and bring back the brights this month (maybe I should do a Bright Lippie Week on Instagram). These fluid sticks are completely opaque in one application, balmy and the set well for longer lasting colour without being drying. It is honestly one of the only red shades I've actually been able to find that I like.

Benefit Watts Up - $53
This was one of my first Benefit products that begun my love affair with the brand as well as my first high end highlighter. I used it almost everyday for months after I bought it and loved it but since expanding my highlighter collection I haven't used it very much. The subtle gold colour really is beautiful and great for summer so I'm looking forward to using it more this month.

Benefit Posie Tint - $55
As beautiful as this colour is I always seem to have issues applying it and it takes so much longer than a quick sweep of powder or cream blush. I think I just need to experiment with it more and learn how to apply it without loosing patience and tossing it aside because it is a gorgeous pink and looks so lovely with a bit of Dandelion swept over the top.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat in 2.5 - $57
I used to use this every single day for the longest time before I discovered Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer for my under eye area. Due to the price and the fact I like the Nars concealer more for a way cheaper price I probably won't repurchase but it is beautifully luxe and I really don't want this one to go to waste. I like how it highlights under the eyes and makes the area look really glowy and well moisturised (you know how sometimes concealers can get a bit dry looking under the eyes?) and it will be really good for my lighter makeup days.

So there you have the products I will be trying to get a little more use out of this month. Do you have some old favourites hidden away that maybe aren't getting as much use as they should in your makeup collection. Maybe you would like to join in my monthly Shop My Stash?

Stay Rosy.

  1. I'm definitely in support of Bright Lippie Week! I've had my eye on both of those Benefit products but have never quite taken the plunge and I must say, that Inglot palette is GORGEOUS!
