December Favourites

Tuesday, 30 December 2014
The year is coming to an end so it is time to do my monthly round up of some of the products I really got my money's worth out of. Most of these are fairly new but I was also happy to rediscover an old favourite I'd forgotten I loved so much.

MAC 15 Pan Custom Eye Shadow Pro Palette $160 USD
This one is kind of a no brainer but I have only had it about a month and I can't help but stare lovingly at it and ask, "Where have you been all my life?" But seriously, what did I do before these beautiful, lovingly hand picked shadows? I know it is crazy expensive, even ordering from the US but if you can I would definitely say do it. I haven't been at all tempted to buy any more eye shadows and I think this baby will keep me content for quite a while. I did a blog post about all the shades I picked with swatches if you want some more details.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder in 52 Vanille $20
I have wanted this one for ages and I finally picked it up at Priceline's last 40% cosmetics sale and it has definitely lived up to the hype. It is really finely milled, applies beautifully and is slightly yellow toned while still being light which makes a refreshing change from most pink toned powders for pale skin. It is still fairly low coverage but it is perfect for setting my liquid foundation and the compact packaging is small and sturdy.

Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara with Argan Oil $17.95
Even though I have found my holy grail mascara in Benefit They're Real, I never stop looking for a equally awesome mascara at a lower price point. While the Rimmel Wonder'full doesn't quite match the Benefit one, it has definitely exceeded my expectations and really lengthens my lashes. I also really like the big fat plastic bristled brush but I wish it had the bulb of bristles on the end like Benefit. It doesn't quite thicken as much as I like (the reason I love Benefit is because it lengthens and thickens just the right amount) but it is still a damn good mascara for the price.

Clinique Moisturising Chubby Stick in 07 Super Strawberry $35
I actually got this as a freebie from my last Sephora USA order and I have fallen in love with it! It is really moisturising and smooth and gives a beautiful sheer tint that is just a shade darker and rosier than my natural lips. I have used it so many times and I adore it paired with my Nars Amour blush and lots of lashes for a rosy natural look.

Benefit High Beam $45
After buying so many beautiful powder highlighters recently like my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, MAC Soft & Gentle and TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, I had forgotten just how much I loved this liquid highlighter. It is perfect for my light skin and I dot it over my cheekbones, browbones, nose and cupids bow and buff it into my foundation before it sets for the most natural highlighting look. I love the liquid formula because I can always create the most natural lit-from-within glow compared to my powder highlighters. There is a very good reason this is a cult favourite highlighter!

So there are my December makeup favourites. I would love to hear some of yours. Which products couldn't you put down this month? Let me know below in the comments and have a wonderful new year full of more great discoveries of the cosmetic variety.

Stay Rosy.
