Fun Night at Mecca Cosmetica!

Saturday, 20 September 2014
After I attended the Priceline 30 Days of Beauty event in Brisbane city on Friday night, I couldn't resist popping into Mecca Cosmetica (among many other stores, whoops) and I was once again reminded of why it is my absolute favourite place to shop. I received wonderful service and walked away with great products and a wide smile. Seriously, the customer service was so good I couldn't not send Mecca a Facebook message about it. Enough gushing though, here are the products I bought and my initial impressions of them.

Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten $24
I don't know why it is taken me so long to try this cult favourite out but I am kicking myself for not checking it out earlier. I am a big fan of just wearing gold on my lids with a bit of crease contour and this is totally perfect for that. It is really glittery so you can really build it up but it also goes on nicely as a softer wash of colour. Basically I love it and I can see it becoming a solid favourite of mine. If you haven't tried it out, definitely swatch it next time you are in Mecca!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer $35
Concealer shopping has always been a painful experience for me. I can never find a light enough shade that suits my pale skin or when I do, it doesn't have enough coverage to cover my deep purple eye circles. While I do love the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer that I recently bought, I think I like this one better. In any case the packaging is way better for this one. Man do I hate that Mac Pro Longwear pump! This Nars concealer comes in a lipgloss like package with a doe foot applicator. It is really pigmented and I would definitely classify as this a medium to full coverage while still being really creamy. The consistency is good and blends well so it is perfect for the under eye area as well and I didn't notice any creasing. Furthermore, the colour range is fantastic as well so you are sure to find a match even if you have a really difficult skin tone like me.

Nars #12 Cream Blending Brush $38
I haven't been happy with the cheaper concealer brushes I have used in the past and I always used to end up just using my fingers so I decided to try out this Nars Brush. I had a bit of a play and feel of it in store and really liked it. It feels beautiful and solid in the hand and is a really great size and shape for my eye area. I am completely happy with it and I can't imagine ever finding one better. There are still certain concealers I like to blend with my fingers but this is a perfect brush to match the Nars concealer and I also liked applying my MAC Pro Longwear concealer with it too.

Samples!
I also got a sample of the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Siberia which I have been wanting to try out for ages! I am beyond excited to try it out so stay tuned on my Instagram to see how I get on with it. The lovely lady at Mecca Cosmetica also gave me a sample of the Elemental Herbology Cell Food Radiance & Vitality Serum when I mentioned I wanted to explore higher end skin care. I know this is the kind of product that is ideally trailed over many weeks so see optimal results but I already like it a lot and can notice some immediate improvements, plus it smells divine.

Do you love shopping at Mecca Cosmetica or Mecca Maxima as much as I do? Let me know what your last purchase was because I'm always on the lookout for new things to pick up on my next visit.

Stay Rosy.
